VirusBuster Professional successfully passed the Virus Bulletin newest - probably up to now the most rigorous -, 2008 august test under Windows XP SP3 platform
VirusBuster Ltd's VirusBuster Professional v5.3, like in many previous years, won another "Virus Bulletin 100%" ("VB100") award after successfully fulfilling the criteria of the 2008 August test series.
In these latest tests the renowned independent test organization examined 35 anti-viral products under Windows XP platform, which was updated by Service Pack 3. The experts of Virus Bulletin prepared by completely new tests for this analysis, so they say probably this was the most rigorous test of the year - or rather in the history of Virus Bulletin.
Virus Bulletin (www.virusbtn.com), an independent medium of the computer security industry, has carried out comparative testing of anti-virus products for nearly a decade. The first "VB100" awards were issued in 1998, and, since then, they have gained worldwide reputation. The tests focus on virus detection rates and scanning speed, as well as at how each product fares when scanning a set files that are known to be clean.
In order to win the award, the product tested must detect all in the wild (ITW) viruses during both on-demand and on-access scanning, but must not generate any false positives when scanning a set of clean files. VirusBuster Professional successfully met these high expectations.
As John Hawes, an expert from Virus Bulletin wrote "VirusBuster is a challenger for the fastest installation process, with its simple system which starts with a simple WinZip dialog and completes, after a standard set of choices, around 30 seconds later with no reboot required. The interface is much as it has been for some time, a tried and trusted thing which provides plenty of configurations in stable and reliable style. The protection offered is similarly solid, with more than decent detection rates and very decent speeds. No issues in the WildList or clean sets means that VirusBuster earns a VB100 award."
